About Matt:

Matt is the “Schick” in “Schick and Nick.”  After graduating from (and being brainwashed at)  the University of Colorado-Boulder,  he began his broadcasting career mixing paint at Sears. There he learned the difference between satin and semi-gloss finish prior to moving on to work at 950 AM “The Fan” in Denver doing live sports updates. Matt left Denver to join NTV-ABC in Kearney as a sports anchor; he also started and co-hosted a sports radio talk show on Kearney’s ESPN Radio.

In 2005, Matt was tapped to join the sportscaster team at KETV-Omaha.  He jumped at the chance to drive into work on an interstate.  He worked at KETV for five years, reporting on Nebraska football and putting his (sometimes) humorous spin on sports.  He began hosting the “Schick and Nick Show” on 1620 the Zone in August of 2009.  He anchored the inaugural “Hardbat Classic” on ESPN in 2009 and continues to do freelance television work whenever possible.

Matt married Kelly in September of 2009.  The two welcomed their first baby, a boy named Coen, in October of 2010.  Having lived in Omaha for more than five years, both Matt and Kelly consider Omaha home and are excited to start their family in the market.
