
NRG MEDIA OMAHA AND WESTWOOD ONE SPORTS EXTEND MEN’S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES PARTNERSHIP THROUGH 2026
OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha, Nebraska’s top-ranked radio station for sports and sports talk – 1620 The ZONE – will remain the flagship home for NCAA Men’s College World Series through 2026 with a five-year contract extension with Westwood One that begins this year. NRG Media has been the radio home of the Men’s College World Series in Omaha since 1997.
The agreement covers the next five Men’s College World Series in Omaha and gives NRG Media and 1620 The Zone exclusive local rights to produce the broadcast of the preliminary games and broadcast play-by-play for all games.
“We are extremely excited to continue our partnership with Westwood One Sports as the Omaha home for the Men’s College World Series, one of the best sporting events every year. Westwood One Sports and the NCAA have been great partners, and we look forward to another five years of carrying the Men’s College World Series”, General Manager Mark Shecterle stated.
As part of the agreement, 1620 The ZONE and NRG Media will also carry Westwood One’s coverage of both the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournaments, including the Men’s and Women’s Final Four each year through 2026.
